• Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor and Mok Hing Yiu Professor of Medicine, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission for two years from 1 July 2013.
• Prof. Ng Mee-kam, professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management, has been appointed by the Chief Secretary for Administration as a member of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Council for two years from 1 July 2013.
• Prof. Hui King-man Michael, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Marketing, has been appointed by the Chief Justice as a member of the Notaries Public Disciplinary Tribunal Panel for three years from 1 July 2013.
• Prof. Wong Tak-jun, Dean of Business Administration and Professor of Accountancy, has been appointed by the Financial Secretary as a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel for three years from 16 July 2013, and a convenor of the Financial Reporting Review Panel.
• Prof. Kenneth Young, master of C.W. Chu College and Professor of Physics, has been re-appointed by the Financial Secretary as a member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation on an ad personam basis for two years from 1 July 2013, and re-appointed by the Secretary for Education as chairperson of the Curriculum Development Council for two years from 1 September 2013.
• Prof. Wong Suk-ying, Associate Dean (Student Affairs) of the Faculty of Social Science and professor in the Department of Sociology, has been appointed by the Secretary for Education as the institutional representative of CUHK in the Joint Committee on Student Finance for one year from 1 June 2013.
• Prof. Lee Wing-yan Vivian, associate professor in the School of Pharmacy, has been appointed by the Secretary for Food and Health as a member of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board for two years from 4 July 2013.
• Prof. Hau Kit-tai, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Educational Psychology, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for Education as a member of the Curriculum Development Council for two years from 1 September 2013.
• Prof. Ching Pak-chung, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Electronic Engineering, has been appointed by the Secretary for Food and Health as the chairman of the Veterinary Surgeons Board for three years from 15 September 2013.
• Prof. Wong Chak-kei Jack, professional consultant in the Department of Finance, has been appointed by the Food and Health Bureau as a member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for two years from 15 April 2013, and invited by the CLP Power to join the Independent Panel for Tariff Consultation Project.
• Prof. Lawrence J. Lau, Ralph and Claire Landau Professor of Economics in the Institute of Global Economics and Finance, has been re-appointed as a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee for two years from 1 October 2013.
• Prof. Cheung Nim-kwan, honorary professor in the Faculty of Engineering, has been re-appointed as a member of the Research Grants Council for two years from 1 July 2013.
• Dr. Kam Pok-man, adjunct associate professor in the School of Accountancy, has been appointed by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development as a member of the General Committee of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries for two years with immediate effect after the Federation of Hong Kong Industries' Annual General Meeting on 5 July 2013 until the close of the Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Hong Kong Industries in 2015.
