Making Whole is the New Healing

CUHK and The University of Queensland (UQ) have been partners since 2002 and share a common vision in achieving excellence and changing the world for the better. The two universities look to forge deeper ties in areas including engineering, health sciences, medicine, and social sciences.

To cultivate links between researchers and explore new initiatives, the Office of Academic Links hosted the Health Engineering Virtual Symposium on 19 August, bringing 13 researchers from UQ and CUHK working in biomedical sciences, chemistry, dentistry, engineering, imaging, and neuroscience together to deliver talks on tissue engineering and healthcare technology. Officiating at the event were Prof. Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, and Prof. Deborah Terry, Vice-Chancellor of UQ. The occasion drew 80 participants and saw vigorous discussions throughout the sessions.

The symposium marks the first of a series of events by the two universities. The next joint webinar is due to be held in mid-October to shine light on the ethics of health during the pandemic.
