Dear readers, With the launch of e-newsletter CUHK in Focus, CUHKUPDates has retired and this site will no longer be updated. To stay abreast of the University’s latest news, please go to https://focus.cuhk.edu.hk. Thank you.
In the Covid-raging times, people tend to boost their immune system by doing lots of exercises, such as hiking, jogging, cycling, practising yoga and the like. However, if they are not proficient at that sport or working out excessively, they may get sprained or bruised. The following are some common sports injuries:
Upper limb: tennis or golfer’s elbow, finger joints injury (common in basketball game) and shoulder injury
Lower limb: fractures, ankle sprain, knee injury, hamstring strain and plantar fasciitis
These injuries seem commonplace. If they are not treated properly, however, the injured regions may become fragile and injuries would recur.
If you are afflicted by the abovementioned injuries or symptoms, good news is you can join the Integrative Medicine Musculoskeletal Injury Program launched by the Integrative Medical Centre to relieve the discomfort. Each participant would receive a thorough joints examination, or she may opt for assessment conducted by the physiotherapist# to take advantage of the best of Chinese and Western medicinal systems.
