CUHK and Oxford Renew Agreement on Collaboration for Medical Humanitarian Response

CUHK and the University of Oxford reaffirmed their commitment to disaster and medical humanitarian response on 6 December by renewing their cooperation in the Collaborating Centre for Oxford University and CUHK for Disaster and Medical Humanitarian Response (CCOUC) for another five years. The agreement signing ceremony was officiated by Prof. Andrew Hamilton (right), Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, and Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung (left), Vice-Chancellor of CUHK. It is also one of the celebratory activities of the CUHK Golden Jubilee.

CCOUC is based in the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care in the Faculty of Medicine. Since its inception in April 2011, CCOUC has gathered the very best faculty and students, undertaken world-class international research, forged partnerships with other institutions internationally, and developed the fruits of research to benefit the global community. CCOUC also provides technical assistance in disaster public health and medicine in large-scale disasters in China and the Asian region such as the 2013 Ya'an earthquake in Sichuan Province and the glacier lake flood in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
