Established in 1994, the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE) has grown steadily, and has attained an international reputation for its excellence in research and teaching. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, MAE organized a banquet on 13 September.

The banquet was officiated by Prof. Benjamin W. Wah, Provost; Prof. C.P. Wong, Faculty Dean of Engineering; Mr. S.H. Chan, chairman of the Advisory Committee on Mechanical and Automation Engineering; Dr. Alan Lam, chairman of MAE Alumni Association; and Prof. J. Huang, chairman, MAE. Over 130 guests, including invited students, staff and alumni of MAE, and guests from business, industrial and education sectors attended the event.

During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were presented to current and former Advisory Committee members for their dedicated service to the department, and to scholarship sponsors for their generous contribution, respectively. Six MAE staff also received the 2014 Long Service Awards for their contributions to the department over the last two decades. To mark the anniversary, the department also honoured 20 Outstanding Alumni. Please click here.
