Matriculation Results Of the 6,796 candidates who sat for this year's Matriculation Examination, 2,270 passed, representing 33.4% of the total. Selection for admission to the Foundation Colleges of the University will be centralized. UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN'S SEMINAR GROUP IN HONG KONG The Department of Extramural Studies of the University was host to an International Seminar Group from the University of Wisconsin who were here from 9th to 15th July to study “Hong Kong and Its People”. Hong Kong was part of the group's itinerary which also included Tokyo, Taiwan and Seoul. Apart from the usual sightseeing and visits, a series of talks were given by members of the faculties of this University as well as the University of Hong Kong, namely: “Government and People of Hong Kong” by Dr. Francis K . Pan, Director of Dictionary Project "Hong Kong Economy" by Dr. S.C. Fan , Senior Lecturer, Economics Department, University of Hong Kong “ An American's View of Chinese Life Today" by Rev. Raymond L. Whitehead, Lecturer in Philosophy & Religion, Chung Chi College - 5 -
