Fee rebate has not been reflected. 大學游泳池開放時間 University Swimming Pool Notice 大學游泳池每週開放七天,假日照常。二零零五年九月一日至十一月三十日為非 繁忙泳季,游泳池的開放時間如下︰ 第一節:上午十時三十分至下午一時四十分 第二節:下午二時三十分至六時十五分 During th e non-peak swimmin g seaso n from 1s t September 200 5 t o 30t h Novembe r 2005, the daily opening hours of the Universit y Swimmin g Pool are as follows: 1st session: 10.3 0 a.m. — 1.4 0 p.m. 2nd session: 2.3 0 p.m. 一 6.1 5 p.m. The pool is open seven days a week, including public holidays . 學生工讀計劃(二零零五至零六年度) Student Campus Work Scheme 2005-06 學生工讀計劃基金現已接受教職員申請。 目的: 讓有經濟需要的本地學生利用課餘時間,協助教職員進行研究或其他工 作,獲取報酬。 工作性質:(一)協助大學教員從事研究工作。 (二)協助各行政單位在繁忙期間的工作。 (三)其他工讀計劃委員會批准之工作。 報酬: 二零零四至零五年度工讀生(本科生及研究生)報酬為每小時五十港元 (由學生工讀計劃委員會每年檢討)。 申請辦法:申請表格已發送給各部門及行政單位主管。教職員可向其所屬部門或單 位索取申請表格,填妥後寄回范克廉樓一樓學生事務處學生工讀計劃委 員會秘書,截止申請日期為二零零五年十月四日。 備註: (一)所有撥款只可用作支付香港中文大學工讀生薪酬。 (二)學生不能連續工作四星期而每星期工作須在十八小時以下。 (三)學生的每段受僱期不能超過五十九日,而在每段受僱期之間,須最 少暫停工作一個月。 (四)所有撥款須於二零零六年九月三十日前全數支付。 (五)獲資助之教職員須於二零零六年十月三十一日前擬就報告,經學生 事務處學生工讀計劃委員會秘書轉送有關捐助機構。 Applications fo r grants under the Student Campus Work Scheme are now invite d from members o f the academic and administrative staff . Aim: T o help local needy students by providing opportunities for paid campus work, i n the form of assisting University academics/administrator s i n their projects . Nature of work: a ) T o assist academic staf f in their research projects. b) T o assist administrative staff in projects which require a large task- force on a short-term basis. c) An y othe r job assignment s as may be approved by the Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme . Remuneration: Remuneratio n for undergraduates and postgraduates is at HK$50/hour for 2004-05 (subjec t to review annuall y by the Committee on Student Campus Work Scheme) . New label s for the 2005-06 academic year are ready for issuance . Eligible holders of the parking label are required to return the old label in exchange for the new one when submitting the new application. For privacy and security reasons, the exchange could either be made in person or through a designated representative. This articl e attempt s t o addres s thi s issu e b y investigating th e performanc e o f 15-year-ol d secondary schoo l students in Hong Kong. First, it reviews the quality of the secondar y school system by assessing their overall performance in reading, mathematics, and science. Then it assesses the equality of educational outcomes by examining the achievement gap between students from different social backgrounds. The results suggest that Hong Kong's educatio n system has achieved both excellence and equality o f opportunity compared to othe r countries. However serious academic and socia l segregation among schools is also found.
