Professor TANG Xiao'ou, Professor of the Department of Information Engineering at CUHK, has been devoted to the study of computer vision and deep learning. He is also one of the most influential scientists in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Professor Tang established the Multimedia Laboratory (MMLab) at CUHK in 2001 and has applied deep learning to computer vision research. He and the core members of his research team, including Professor WANG Xiaogang and Professor LIN Dahua, work together to make MMLab recognised as one of the top 10 AI labs in the world.

Professor Tang was the Editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV) and a general chair of the International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV). He was ranked as Asia's top five computer scientists by Guide2Research in 2020. In 2009, Professor Tang and his PhD student, Dr. Kai Ming HE of the Department of Information Engineering, received the Best Paper Award at the prestigious IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR), which was the first one ever from Asia. Professor Tang founded SenseTime in 2014 with several founding members from the MMLab at CUHK. He led the research team to develop the technology that was the first to surpass human eyes' performance on face recognition in 2014, which was an important milestone for industrial applications of AI.

Based on artificial intelligence deep learning and computer medical imaging analysis technology, Imsight has developed a series of fast and accurate intelligent medical imaging products, mainly covering pathology, radiology, radiotherapy and other areas. These products perform in-depth analysis on big data medical images, act as a fast and accurate auxiliary tool and thereby improve the accuracy and efficiency of clinical diagnosis and treatment.

CocoRobo Technology Co., Ltd.

CocoRobo is an Ed-Tech company providing STEAM educational products and services, including hardware, curriculum, software and cloud service. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in January 2018. The mission is to introduce innovative ideas and technology into the education field of STEAM and be the most preferred partner for educators, offering the most user-friendly intelligence product series and curriculum system. Currently, more than 150 schools in Hong Kong and the Mainland China have adopted such educational kits and curricula. The company has a long-term and in-depth cooperation with The Chinese University of Hong Kong's Faculty of Education and Faculty of Engineering. It has hosted some Robot STEAM competitions in Hong Kong and Shenzhen each year.

SMARTEYE Tech Limited

SMARTEYE is devoting itself to developing and commercialising high-speed and high-resolution 3D imaging systems along with corresponding software. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in January 2018. A self-developed 3D camera can reach up to 70Hz for 3D scanning. Its precision can reach up to 10 micros. SMARTEYE products are mostly applied in robot guidance and industrial inspection, such as random bin-picking, welding guidance, robot assembly, defect detection and reverse engineering. In 2020, SMARTEYE 3D machine vision solution was successfully applied to multiple industries with over one hundred users, more than ten of them being listed among the Fortune Global 500.

HippoTuring Medical Technology Co., Ltd.

HippoTuring focuses on the high technology products development in virtual surgery, medical image analysis and visualisation, ultrasound image based diagnosis, and other areas. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in March 2018. Based on years of research and industrialisation experience, HippoTuring developed a series of products for medical education, such as Virtual Anatomy Table, Ultrasound Guided Puncture Simulator, CVH-Slicer, Virtual Chinese Acupuncture, and other related devices and software. Aiu Ltd.

Aiu Limited is a pioneering designer in the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) industry. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in November 2018. It has brought itself to the very forefront of the industry by introducing innovative technologies to boost the global application of commercial UAVs. Inspired by the UAV background of the company's founders, they designed a very innovative and user-friendly VTOL drone with tilt-rotors for aerial surveys. The company's mission is to ensure a safe and efficient working environment by adopting advanced aerial technologies. The company has been digging into a new, challenging project of a portable VTOL drone since 2019, aiming to facilitate the UAV operation system and improve its normal flight duration as well as movement speed.

R-Guardian (Shenzhen) Technology Co., Ltd.

R-Guardian focuses on developing and manufacturing IoT based technology for consumer products. The company joined the InnoHub family in September 2018. Now the company's business covers both B2B and B2C. In terms of B2B, R-Guardian has cooperated with various luggage brands worldwide, and has established its own smart luggage brand, namely UNQ and Skytrek in B2C mode. R-Guardian currently has its tech team based in Shenzhen and also has sales co-ordination offices in Hong Kong and Seoul. The company's long-term strategy is to build and develop an IoT platform for mobile and wearable products.

BayJayRay Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd.

BayJayRay focuses on developing compact precision optical instruments to meet the growing industry demand and research in advanced manufacturing and biotechnology. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in September 2019. BayJayRay's products are unique in providing high speed and reliable precision in 3D profiling of nanomaterial structures and biological samples. Qianzhi Science Technology Co., Ltd.

Qianzhi aims to build an system that can automatically design and manufacture LEGO brick models from very simple user input. In our current implementation, users only need to upload a photo of the human face and the AI system will automatically generate a brick model according to the input photo, as well as the instructions for assembly. The team has also developed various brick-related technologies for brick manufacturing, including brick sorting, texture printing, and customized package manufacturing. The company was admitted to the InnoHub in November 2020.
