CUHK has joined hands with nearly 40 national, regional and international scientific and research organizations from around the world as one of the founding members of the Alliance of International Science Organizations in the Belt and Road Region (ANSO). Initiated by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, ANSO is an international, non-profit and non-governmental scientific organization for identifying and addressing common issues in the Belt and Road Region and promoting science and technology cooperation. Among the founding members are scientific bodies from Russia, Pakistan, Poland, Hungary, Nepal, Kenya, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Brazil, with CUHK being the only institution from Hong Kong.
