Leading the New Normal in Globalisation: Virtual Student Mobility The COVID-19 pandemic has seen unprecedented disruption to traditional constructs of international education and global student mobility. Responding to this disruption, CUHK led a new initiative designed to support students impacted by the pandemic and forge a new paradigm in international education through the launch of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) Virtual Student Exchange (VSE) programme in August 2020. Today the VSE provides opportunities for students of APRU member universities from across the Asia-Pacific to take online academic courses on a plethora of topics and participate in co-curricular programmes for cultural immersion without needing to leave their home countries. Leveraging technology and innovative instructional design, VSE enables students to cultivate global leadership skills and prepare for careers in the global workplace. VSE has reimagined the concept of global student mobility and laid the cornerstone for a future where virtual learning will become an integral part of international student exchange. It has been nominated for the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2021 in the International Strategy of the Year Category. 新常態下倡導全球學生 網上交流 新冠疫情史無前例地擾亂了國際教育及 全球學生交流的一貫安排，有見及此， 中大作出積極回應，在疫情帶來的新常 態下，為全球教育譜寫新章，倡導「環太 平洋大學聯盟」成員大學參與「網上學 生交流計劃」，為受影響之學生提供學 習支援。 計劃於2020年8月推出，讓來自聯盟成員 大學的學生即使足不出戶，都能修讀豐富 多元的網上課程，並參與線上聯課活動， 體驗異國文化。計劃採用先進科技及創 新教學設計，讓學生培養全球領袖素質， 為到海外就業作好準備。 「網上學生交流計劃」改寫了全球學生 交流的舊有概念，為網上學習作為國際 學生交流重要一環的大方向奠下穩固基 石。計劃入圍Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2021（年度國際策略組 別） 的候選名單。 請掃描二維碼深入了解中大倡導之「環太平洋大 學聯盟網上學生交流計劃」。 Please scan here for more information about the CUHK-led APRU Virtual Student Exchange Programme.
