2020–2021 年度概覽 Highlights 17 醫學教授榮獲 「科學界奧斯卡」 The Oscars of Science 醫學院盧煜明教授榮獲「2021年科 學突破獎─生命科學獎」，以表揚 他對開創無創產前診斷所作的革命 性貢獻。此榮譽等同「科學界奧斯 卡」，在全球科學界備受矚目。 Professor Dennis Yuk Ming Lo from the Faculty of Medicine received the 2021 Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences for his contribution to prenatal testing technology. The Prize, recognised as the ‘Oscars of Science’, attracts considerable attention in the global scientific community. 2021年度IEEE 理查德‧漢明獎章 The IEEE 2021 Richard W. Hamming Medal 電機及電子工程師學會（IEEE）向 工程學院楊偉豪教授頒發2021年 度「IEEE理查德‧漢明獎章」，表 揚他在開拓網絡通訊和網絡編碼 等方面的卓越成就。楊教授不但擁 有BATS編碼相關的十項專利，更是 「IEEE理查德‧漢明獎章」自創立 以來首位獲獎的亞洲學者。 Professor Yeung Wai-ho Raymond from the Faculty of Engineering was awarded the 2021 Richard W. Hamming Medal by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for his exceptional contributions to information theory and pioneering network coding and its applications. Holder of ten patents on BATS codes, Professor Yeung is the first Asian researcher to bring home this prestigious award. 地理學家勇奪貢獻獎 CUHK Geographer Awarded AAG Wilbanks Prize 卓敏地理與資源管理學教授關美寶 教授獲美國地理學家協會頒授2021 年度「Wilbanks地理學變革性研究貢 獻獎」，為首位獲此殊榮的亞洲學者。 關教授對地理學及地理信息科學影響 深遠。 Professor Mei-Po Kwan, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Geography and Resource Management, received the 2021 Wilbanks Prize for Transformational Research in Geography from the American Association of Geographers. Professor Kwan, the first Asian researcher to receive this honour, has transformed the discipline of geography and geographic information science.
