44 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2020–2021 With the coronavirus continuing to threaten human health, CUHK experts across disciplines have stayed at the forefront of finding solutions to tackle pandemic challenges through innovative research and development. The University has also taken proactive measures to safeguard public health. In addition to the vaccination services provided to the community by the CUHK Medical Centre, the University organised the ‘COVID-19 Outreach Vaccination Service’ to help establish a stronger immunity barrier in Hong Kong. Over 400 members of the University registered for the on- campus service. The University has responded actively to the growing health consciousness fueled by the pandemic and cared for the needs of a broad cross-section of the community. The Nethersole School of Nursing of the Faculty of Medicine organised the Community Caring Day to promote care for the elderly and intergenerational solidarity. Senior citizens from local community centres and aged care homes were invited to participate in activities conducted in a hybrid mode, including talks, individualised health consultations and group workouts. The Jockey Club ‘Sports Without Limits’ Youth Empowerment Programme organised by the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education reached over 5,000 disabled and able-bodied students, parents and teachers through a curation of activities including adapted sports, the provision of physical activity monitoring devices and toolkits to schools, as well as the joint organisation of sports training sessions in partnership with overseas experts. 新冠疫情持續威脅人類健康，大學 不同學科的專家領導全球創新科研， 致力協助人類應對疫情帶來的挑戰。 大學亦迅速採取多項措施，守護公眾 健康。除中大醫院參與政府疫苗接種 計劃外，大學亦安排 「2019冠狀病毒病 疫苗外展接種服務」 ，逾四百名大學成 員登記在校接種疫苗，以協助社區建 立更強大的免疫屏障。 疫情讓人們更加關注健康，有見及此， 大學積極作出回應，並關顧社區不同人 士的需要。醫學院那打素護理學院舉辦 「社區關懷日」 ，推廣護老文化，鼓勵長 幼共融，邀請一眾長者參與線上線下活 動，包括健康講座、個人化健康諮詢、 集體健身操等。 體育運動學系推行 「賽馬會『運動無界 限』青少年展翅高飛計劃」 ，向超過五 千名殘疾兒童、健全學童、家長及教師 推廣適應運動，並為他們提供運動器 材及監測儀器，及與海外專家合辦培 訓活動等。 保障社區健康 Striving for Public Health 醫護人員為長者提供 電話健康諮詢服務。 Healthcare professionals provide telehealth counselling to the elderly. 1 1
