2021–2022 年度概覽 Highlights 17 首位「皇家獎章」華人得主 First Chinese recipient of the Royal Medal 醫學院盧煜明教授榮獲2021年「皇家 獎章」，以表揚他對推動生物科學知 識進步的貢獻。「皇家獎章」由全球歷 史最悠久的科學學院英國皇家學會頒 發，盧教授是歷年來首位華人得主。盧 教授及其團隊研發之唐氏綜合症無創 檢測方法，每年讓全球數以百萬計孕 婦受惠，是醫學界的重大突破。 Professor Dennis Lo Yuk-ming from the Faculty of Medicine received the Royal Medal 2021 for his achievements in biological sciences. He is the first Chinese scientist ever to receive this prestigious award from the Royal Society, the world’s oldest scientific academy in continuous existence. Professor Lo and his research team have invented a ground-breaking non-invasive prenatal test for Down syndrome, benefiting millions of pregnant women worldwide every year. 信息論最高榮譽 Highest honour in information theory 電機及電子工程師學會向工程學院 楊偉豪教授頒發2022年度「克勞德 ・ 香農獎」，表揚他在信息論研究的卓越 貢獻，該獎項被視為信息論領域的最 高榮譽，意義非凡。 Professor Raymond Yeung Wai-ho from the Faculty of Engineering was awarded the 2022 Claude E. Shannon Award by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Information Theory Society. The award, the highest honour in the field, is a fine tribute to Professor Yeung’s consistent, profound contributions to information theory. 詹姆斯·安德森 應用地理學榮譽勳章 CUHK geographer awarded AAGWilbanks Prize 卓敏地理與資源管理學教授關美寶 教授獲授「詹姆斯 ・ 安德森應用地理學 榮譽勳章」，表揚她於應用地理學推動 跨學科研究和範式轉移的貢獻。此勳章 為美國地理學家協會應用地理學專業 組的最高榮譽，關教授是首位華人及第 三位女性得獎學者。 Professor Kwan Mei-po, Choh-Ming Li Professor of Geography and Resource Management, received the James R. Anderson Medal of Honor in Applied Geography for her multidisciplinary, paradigm-shifting contributions to applied geography. She is the first Chinese and the third female scholar to receive the highest honour bestowed by the Applied Geography Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers.
