研究、創新與創業 Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship 35 中大研究廣獲社會支持 Garnering community support for research endeavours CUHK is committed to heightening our impact by partnering with benefactors. Donors in the community have lent us invaluable support in our quest for research excellence. In 2021-22, we celebrated a generous donation of HK$150 million from the Li Ka Shing Foundation to drive research and development in biomedical technology at the Faculty of Medicine through the implementation of the Passion for Perfection Scheme, which is designed to accelerate the development and translation of research discoveries into patient care, for medical advances and improved human health. 中大與捐贈者保持緊密聯繫,協力提升大學 的影響力。社會上不少善長對中大的卓越研 究給予極大支持。 2021-22年度,中大獲李嘉誠基金會慷慨捐 贈港幣一億五千萬元,支持醫學院生物醫 學科技的科研發展。醫學院將利用善款推 出「至臻至美」計劃,加速把科研成果由實 驗室應用到人體身上,提升醫療水平,促 進人類健康。 引進優才加強科研 Enriching the research talent pool Talent attraction and development are critical to our research and innovation endeavours. CUHK aspires to bring in world- class talent to contribute to its research excellence. The 2021- 2025 Strategic Plan details the Vice-Chancellor’s Strategic Recruitment Programme, comprising Professorships and Visiting Professorships targeting internationally renowned scholars, Early Career Professorships that actively pursue top young talent globally, and the HKSAR government's Global STEM Professorship initiative to support local universities in recruiting scholars from abroad to conduct science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) research and teaching activities in Hong Kong. CUHK did well in the government scheme and has so far secured 16 approved nominations. 人才吸納和發展對大學的研究和創新至為 重要。中大致力從世界各地廣納優秀人才, 以創造更具影響力的研究成果。《中大策略 計劃2021-2025》詳述之「校長策略招聘計 劃」造就理想平台,為大學羅致頂尖人才。 計劃包括為國際知名學者而設的「教授及 訪問教授席」、為全球頂尖青年人才而設的 「新晉教授席」、以及特區政府推出的「傑 出創科學人計劃」,該計劃旨在支持本地大 學從國外招聘學者,在香港開展與科學、技 術、工程和數學(STEM)相關的研究和教學 活動,中大在計劃中表現出色,獲得批核之 學者提名暫有十六位。 中大代表與李嘉誠博士 (中)會面,感謝他慷慨 捐資支持中大生物醫學 科技的科研發展。 CUHK representatives thanked Dr Li Ka-shing (middle) for his generous donation to support the University's research and development in biomedical technology.
