校長前言 Foreword by the Vice-Chancellor and President 5 Hong Kong’s integration into the nation’s development will contribute to the long-term stability and prosperity of our city, and CUHK aspires to nurture a sense of national identity and national pride across the University community. The 25th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region gave the opening of our new flag podium on campus a special meaning, as we hosted a flag raising ceremony on 1 July 2022 to celebrate a quarter of a century since the resumption of China’s exercise of sovereignty over Hong Kong. Starting from the next academic year, flag raising ceremonies will be held weekly and on major holidays as well. Building on our renowned expertise in providing general education, the Senate approved two undergraduate courses in 2021-22, ‘Understanding China’ and ‘Hong Kong in the Wider Constitutional Order’. Scheduled for introduction in the 2022-23 academic year, these meticulously designed courses will complement other existing initiatives in cultivating a holistic understanding of the country’s history, culture and development across our student community. Over many years, CUHK has been a leader in supporting the translation of research and innovation to tangible benefits for society. CUHK is honoured to host six InnoHK Centres under the HKSAR government’s InnoHK initiative, which is designed to inject new vigour into the research and innovation ecosystem of our city by nurturing and enhancing innovative, translational research in health, biomedicine, robotics and artificial intelligence. The first local university to establish a comprehensive presence in mainland China, CUHK celebrated its 15-year track record of education, research and engagement in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) at a special forum in October 2021. The forum gathered researchers, policymakers and industry leaders to discuss and contemplate the development of the innovation and research ecosystem of the GBA and consider Hong Kong’s role in the development of this unique megalopolis. The event also saw the execution of seven new landmark agreements with partners across the GBA, representing key collaboration initiatives that will further expand our footprint in the mainland. 融入國家發展大局，有利香港的長期穩 定和繁榮。中大致力培養大學成員的國 民身份認同及對國家的自豪感。2022年 7月1日，為紀念香港特別行政區成立二 十五周年，中大於校園新建成的旗台舉 行特別升旗典禮，慶祝香港回歸祖國四 份一世紀。在其後的新學年開始，大學 亦每周一次和在重大日子舉行升旗儀 式。秉承大學提供優質通識教育的傳 統，大學教務會在2021-22年度通過新 增「認識中國」及「國家憲制秩序與香 港」兩門設計嚴謹的本科通識課程，與 其他相關活動及項目相輔相成，加深學 生對祖國歷史、文化和發展的認識。 一直以來，中大致力推動研究和創新意 念的轉化，讓社會受益。在香港特別行 政區政府的InnoHK創新香港研發平台 上，中大成立了六所涵蓋健康、生物醫 學、機械人工程和人工智能領域的研究 中心，透過推動創新及轉化研究，為香 港的創科生態注入動力。 作為本港最早全面參與粵港澳大灣區發 展的大學，中大持續積極推動區內的產 學研協作。2021年10月，中大舉行「粵港 澳大灣區發展論壇暨香港中文大學大灣 區發展成果研究會」，慶祝我校進駐大 灣區發展十五周年紀念，並為研究人員、 決策者及業界領袖造就良好機會，共商 香港在大灣區的發展藍圖，促進大灣區 的創科和研究發展。論壇上，我們與多 家大灣區機構簽訂七大重要合作協議， 進一步擴闊中大在大灣區的發展網絡。 香港中文大學與香港中文大學（深圳） 亦於2021年展開加強夥伴關係的新篇 中大舉辦「粵港澳大灣區發展論壇暨香港中文大 學大灣區發展成果研討會」，慶祝進駐粵港澳大 灣區發展十五周年，並於會上與多家機構簽訂七 份新的戰略合作夥伴協議，進一步鞏固香港在大 灣區創新科技方面的地位。 CUHK unveiled seven new strategic partnerships that are set to strengthen Hong Kong's presence in the emerging innovation and technology ecosystem of the Guangdong- Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in a special forum to celebrate its 15-year presence in the GBA.
