校長前言 Foreword by the Vice-Chancellor and President 3 今年是中大創校六十周年紀念，本年報 記載了大學在鑽禧之年的重要舉措和成 就。在中國傳統文化中，六十年代表一 個甲子循環的結束，並象徵新周期的開 始。經歷六十載歲月，中大在教育、研 究和創新方面均取得亮麗成績，為大學 步入下一個十年奠定了堅實的基礎。今 年，我們舉辦了超過120項活動，包括 學術會議、講座、展覽、音樂會、學生活 動等，廣邀各方友好一同慶祝中大甲子 輝煌歷史。2023年2月，我們在本部校 園百萬大道舉行盛大而難忘的啟動典 禮，過千名來賓及大學成員一同為鑽禧 校慶揭開序幕。我謹向所有校慶活動籌 委致敬，並向全體教職員、學生、校友、 捐贈者、合作夥伴和社會各界的鼎力支 持獻上衷心感謝。 隨着香港恢復通關，中大與內地和國際 夥伴的合作展現新氣象。今年，大學在 內地共設立了六個新基地，促進產學研 合作，推動全國人才培育、創新科技和 創業議程。同時，中大與香港中文大學 （深圳）亦作好準備，迎接修讀兩校合 辦的雙主修課程之首屆學生，該聯合課 程給予學生跨境學習體驗和實習機會， 為粵港澳大灣區培育明日棟樑。 大學繼續致力促進與世界各地的互訪 和聯合活動，進一步與國際夥伴加強聯 This volume of the Annual Report gives an account of the major undertakings and achievements of CUHK in a year marking its 60th anniversary. In traditional Chinese culture, turning 60 signifies the completion of a cycle and the birth of a new one. Sixty years of excellence in education, research and innovation has laid a strong foundation for the University to stride into the next decade. This year, we launched a community-wide celebration of CUHK’s proud history with more than 120 events in our calendar, including academic conferences, lectures, exhibitions, concerts and student-led activities. The diamond jubilee celebrations commenced with a special, colourful and memorable ceremony at the University Mall attended by over 1,000 guests, in February 2023. I would like to express my appreciation to everyone involved in the planning and organisation of the diamond jubilee celebrations and my sincere gratitude to all staff, students, alumni, benefactors, partners, friends, and members of the community for their unstinting support. With the reopening of borders, this year saw a reinvigoration of our collaborations with mainland and international partners. The University established six new mainland bases to promote industry, academic and research collaborations contributing to the talent cultivation, innovation and technology, and entrepreneurship agendas across the country. We are also geared up for the first cohort of students to take the dual- location double major programme jointly introduced by CUHK and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), which will provide them with a cross-border learning experience as well as internship opportunities, enabling them to contribute to the talent pool of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
