34 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2022–2023 中大醫學院領導的跨國研究團隊成功研發全球首 個人工智能系統,只需透過分析「眼底相」便能夠 偵測阿茲海默症。 An international team led by CUHK’s Faculty of Medicine has successfully developed the world’s first artificial intelligence model that can detect Alzheimer’s disease solely through fundus photographs. 引領智慧交通與衞星遙感科技創新 Taking the lead in smart traffic and satellite remote sensing 研發阿茲海默症人工智能偵測系統 Developing an innovative AI model to detect Alzheimer’s disease The Institute of Space and Earth Information Science was awarded a total of HK$33 million by the Smart Traffic Fund and the Innovation and Technology Fund to initiate advanced research projects in smart traffic and satellite remote sensing, promoting smart city construction and sustainable development in Hong Kong, in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and the HKSAR government’s Transport Department, Civil Engineering and Development Department, and Lands Department. The projects will advance the one-stop satellite service for environmental monitoring in Hong Kong and the GBA, and promote interdisciplinary research in the key areas of infrastructure health, carbon neutrality, smart cities, food security, ecosystem preservation, Earth system science and marine science. An international team led by CUHK’s Faculty of Medicine successfully developed the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) model that can detect Alzheimer’s disease solely through fundus photographs or images of the retina with a validated accuracy rate exceeding 80%. Taking advantage of fundus photography being widely accessible, non-invasive and cost-effective, the novel AI model is expected to become an important tool for screening people at high risk of Alzheimer’s disease, helping a society challenged by an ageing population address the critical brain health burden. 中大太空與地球信息科學研究所獲香港特別 行政區政府「智慧交通基金」和「創新及科技 基金」合共3,300萬港元資助,領導有關智慧 交通及衞星遙感技術的研究項目。團隊將與 中國科學院、中國航天科技集團有限公司、 本港運輸署、土木工程拓展署及地政總署等 政府部門合作,攜手推動香港智慧城市建設 和可持續發展。 研究項目將推進香港和大灣區環境監測的一 站式衞星服務,促進碳中和、智慧城市、糧食 安全、生態系統保護、地球系統科學和海洋 科學等重點領域之跨學科研究。 中大醫學院領導的國際團隊成功研發全球首 個人工智能系統,只需透過分析視網膜圖像 便能偵測阿茲海默症,準確度逾80%。 有關系統不但易於應用、非入侵性,且成本 效益高,有望日後成為社區篩查罹患阿茲海 默症高危人士的重要工具,幫助緩解社會上 因人口老化所導致的腦健康問題。
