研究、創新與創業 Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship 33 中大衞星發射譜大學新篇 Satellite launch: A historic day for CUHK CUHK’s Institute of Space and Earth Information Science (ISEIS) and the National Space Administration’s Earth Observation and Data Center started a Remote Sensing Satellite Construction Project in November 2023 as they reached a consensus to strengthen cooperation in Earth observation and the development of aerospace technology. The project resulted in “Hong Kong Youth Scientific Innovation” satellite, jointly developed by CUHK and ADA Space. It was propelled into orbit on 24 September 2024, marking two milestones: the 75 th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, and the birth of the first satellite developed by a university in Hong Kong.
