校長引言 Introduction by Vice-Chancellor and President 7 members and our friends from the wider community. Thank you so much for being an integral part of the CUHK story. I hope our entire network of supporters who have been working closely with us to help CUHK compose its own epic will continue to be part of the new chapter of our magnificent legend, and will forge ahead with us in shaping a future characterised by excellence, innovation and collaboration. As we embrace a new “ jiazi  ” (a 60-year cycle), the University continues to perform impressively in the global academic arena. Notably, CUHK has delivered its best performance in the QS World University Rankings 2025 and the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025 since these international recognitions were launched, reaching 36 th and 44 th respectively. The University’s stellar performance in global university rankings is testament yet again to its academic and research excellence. The year 2023-2024 was fruitful for the University in terms of mainland and global engagements. While actively forging global partnerships through joint research and international conferences, exchanges and visits, we also made it a priority to strengthen our foothold in the mainland and integrate further into national development. In particular, the year saw the further consolidation of our highly successful partnership with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen through establishing the CUHK Campuses Collaboration Office, which serves as a central point of communication between the two campuses. The establishment of the Office in the 10 th anniversary year of CUHK-Shenzhen was truly meaningful. The two campuses have been fostering greater synergy by pioneering 2+2 collaborative double major programmes to provide students with learning opportunities in both Hong Kong and Shenzhen, organising joint international events such as the 感謝社會各界成就中大譜寫非凡故事，並 盼望一直鼎力支持大學發展的廣大持份者 會繼續與我們通力合作，引領中大開展新 征程，以追求卓越、推動創新及加強合作 為目標，再創高峰，建設美好未來。 適逢中大步入新「甲子」，我們繼續在國際 學術舞台上發光發亮。中大在 QS 世界大學 排名 2025 及泰晤士高等教育世界大學排 名 2025 中分別位列第 36 和 44 位，創下歷 年來最佳表現，展現我們在學術和研究領 域的卓越成就。 2023 至 2024 年，大學在加強與內地及國 際連繫方面取得美滿成果，透過參與聯合 研究和舉辦國際會議、交流和訪問，深化 全球合作，而拓展內地網絡及深度融入國 家發展亦是大學的重點方向，尤其 2024 年，適逢香港中文大學（深圳）慶祝創校 十周年紀念，兩個中大校園的合作關係 進一步鞏固，共同成立了「中大合作辦公 室」，作為兩校之間的連接點，可謂別具 意義。兩校積極在各個層面促進更大的協 同作用，包括推出全港首創的 2+2 聯合雙 主修課程，讓學生在港深兩地獲取學習經 驗，合辦「鑽禧校慶活動：大學校長論壇」 等國際活動，以及與廣東省科學技術廳開 「鑽禧校慶活動：大學校長論壇」請得來自全球多名大學校長及學術領袖出席交流 The Diamond Jubilee University Presidents' Forum brought together academic leaders from around the world
