8 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2023–2024 Diamond Jubilee University Presidents’ Forum, as well as engaging in a joint funding programme with the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology in support of in-depth technological cooperation. Such undertakings were testament to our mutual commitment to upholding the spirit of “One Brand, Two Campuses”, aspiring to leverage opportunities from the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and boost CUHK’s brand locally, nationally and internationally. As a comprehensive research university, CUHK has been dedicated to generating impactful research and innovation outcomes that bring both immediate and long-term benefits to society. Research and development in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) forms a pillar of Hong Kong’s development as well as the national strategy to strengthen and empower technology and innovation. CUHK was proud to recruit a good number of internationally renowned scholars in STEM disciplines under the Global STEM Professorship Scheme launched by the HKSAR Government. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust’s unwavering support enabled us to establish several Jockey Club STEM Labs during the year, with more to follow, to champion advanced research that would drive the innovation agenda in Hong Kong and our country. In addition, we are thankful for the magnanimous support of our benefactors, whose generosity has resulted in the establishment of endowed professorships across a diverse range of subjects as a way to recognise academic excellence and drive impactful research and innovation at CUHK to ensure that the University remains at the forefront of knowledge. 展聯合資助計劃，支持深度科技合作。兩 校將繼續在「一個品牌，兩個校園」的框 架上通力合作，把握粵港澳大灣區的發展 機遇，讓「中大」品牌譽滿香港、全國乃至 全球。 中大作為一所綜合研究型大學，致力產生 富影響力的研究和創新成果，不但為人類 帶來即時好處，亦能對社會禆益深遠。科 學、技術、工程和數學（簡稱「 STEM 」）相 關研發是本港重要經濟支柱，也是國家提 升整體科研實力及全球影響力的核心領 域。中大非常榮幸能透過特區政府的「傑 出創科學人計劃」，聘任了多位國際知名 的 STEM 學者，在香港賽馬會慈善信託基 金的鼎力支持下，大學 2024 年成立了數 家「賽馬會創科實驗室」，推動香港與國 家創新議程，預計來年將會設立更多實驗 室。此外，我們亦感謝各界善長的慷慨捐 助，在不同學科領域設立命名教授席，推 動中大追求卓越學術成就，並創造具深遠 影響力的研究及創新成果，讓大學一直處 於世界知識前沿。 迎接「雪龍 2 」號訪港 Receiving Xue Long 2 in Hong Kong
