60 學術交流基礎設施之加強 Infrastructure for Academic Exchange Activities Strengthened 大學賓館系統主要服務海外訪客和交流學人，爲他們提供優質的住宿及膳食設施。 過去數年，隨著學術交流活動的不斷增加，大學賓館系統有長足的發展。該系統於九零 年只有客牀二十五張，到了九三至九四年度，它已擴展至擁有四幢賓館，共可容納賓客 二百名，且輔助的餐飮及休憩設施亦相應改善。而於九三年九月啓用的田家炳樓，更爲 各個專責學術交流的部門，提供全新的辦公場地和設施。它們包括大學服務中心硏究圖 書館、港美學術交流中心、學術聯繫辦事處、學術交流組及中國培訓計劃等。 由於各種基礎設施充足且質素優良，籌劃地 區性會議及訓練課程的海外及本地團體，都樂於 選擇中大校園舉行活動；而世界著名的學者和科 硏人員，也喜歡在此理想的環境下講學及從事硏 究工作。 Facilities of the Un i v e r s i ty Guesthouse System are a valuable asset to all those engaged in international exchanges, seminar and conference activites, and training programmes. The system grew considerably within a few years to cope w i t h the increased level of exchange activities on the campus. F r om about 25 beds i n early 1990 the system expanded to include f o ur guesthouses i n 1993-94 which provide 200 bed spaces for v i s i t i ng scholars, trainees, a nd conference participants. Catering services and other amenities were also being upgraded. The Tin Ka Ping Building, which formally opened in September 1993, also provides n ew facilities for various units w h i c h administer a nd s u p p o rt academic exchange p r o g r ammes and activities. They include the Universities Service Centre Research Library, the H o n g K o n g - Ame r i ca Center, the Office of Academic Links, the China Links Programme, and the China Training Project. 大學賓館修葺後 煥然一新 University Guest House after renovation
