16 學術發展 Academic Development 短期交流計劃方面,與本校合作的機構包括美國的亨利盧思基金會、密西根州立大 學、夏威夷大學亞洲研究發展計劃、耶魯大學、聖奧拉夫學院,以及經 ASIANetwork 和中 西聯合學院聯繫的一些人文學科書院。校方又積極參與港美學術交流中心的活動。該中心 設於中大校園,其活動由本港高等教育機構合力推展。 本校爲豐富校園文化與學術生活,以及創造更多與國際傑出學術中心的交流機會,將 繼續致力開拓新聯繫,並加強與現有伙伴的合作關係。 Faculty exchanges w e r e s p o n s o r ed i n c o o p e r a t i on w i t h the British Council, the F u l b r i g ht P r o g r am, a n d the A s s o c i a t i on f or Southeast A s i an I n s t i t u t i o ns o f H i g h er Learning (ASAIHL). The University was h o n o u r ed to have hosted ASAIHL's 21st General Me e t i ng a n d ASA I HL Seminar f r om 2 nd to 4th De c emb er 1994. As ASA I HL President, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Charles K. Kao w e l c o m ed mo re than 150 delegates f r om ASAIHL- m e m b e r i n s t i t u t i o ns across the r e g i o n, w h o g a t h e r ed to t a c k le the t h eme ' P u t t i ng Ac a d em ic Co o p e r a t i on into Practice'. 東南亞高等學府協會第廿一屆大會 21st General Meeting of ASAIHL Departments, faculties a nd research institutes c o n t i n u ed to establish relationships, b o t h f o r mal a n d informal, w i t h counterparts in China a nd internationally. T h e University also participated actively i n the d e v e l o pme nt a nd p r o g r ammes o f the H o n g Ko n g - Ame r i ca Center, a joint effort of H o n g Kong's higher education institutions. T h e centre is based at T h e Chinese University of H o n g Ko n g. I n an effort to enrich the cultural a nd academic life of the Univeristy a n d to create academic a n d research interaction w i t h centres o f excellence a r o u nd the w o r l d , the University w i l l continue to enhance existing academic ties w h i l e actively fostering n e w relationships.
