Th e se conferences a n d t o u r n ame n ts n ot o n l y p r o v i d ed students w i t h v a l u a b le opportunities to w i d e n their visions a nd perspectives a nd d e v e l op better understanding o f international affairs, b ut also enabled t h em to experience different cultures a nd meet w i t h student leaders a r o u nd the w o r l d. 獎學金及經濟援助 Scholarships and Financial Aid 過去一年，中大的獎學金及經濟援助計劃金額續有增長。一九九四至九五年度的獎學 金和經濟援助總額爲二千零三十二萬元，其中一千四百九十九萬元由學生事務處管理，餘 下的五百三十三萬元則由四間成員書院分別管理。 是年由大學及書院頒發之獎學金及優異獎共一千三百五十一項，總額達一千二百三十 萬元。這些獎學金及優異獎主要爲表揚有傑出學術表現的學生，鼓勵他們繼續爭取優異的 成績。由大學校方管理之獎學金及優異獎共五百八十一項，其中百分之十三的金額超過二 萬四千元，足以支付全年學費。約有百分之六的本科生及百分之十五的研究生獲頒一至多 個獎項。 一九九四至九五年度，共有八十九名學生獲頒獎學金參加海外交換生計劃、海外會議 或交流計劃，金額共二百零六萬元。 隨著近年學費的大幅增長，學生對經濟援助的需求日益殷切。雖然大部分需要援助的 學生可從政府的本地專上學生資助計劃中獲得資助，小部分學生因種種原因須向大學求 助。—九九四至九五年度的經濟援助總額約共三百四十五萬元，其中二百七十萬元爲貸 款，其餘爲助學金。此外，爲鼓勵學生善用暑假進修或外遊以擴闊視野，校方更設立學生
