Students 學生 5 3 I n p s y c h o l o g i c al c o u n s e l l i n g, e f f o r ts c o n t i n u ed to b e d i r e c t ed t o w a r ds b o t h therapeutic intervention a nd mental health education. Du r i ng the year over 500 students received c o u n s e l l i ng services or participated i n various p r o g r ammes organized b y the Psychological Counselling Unit. O f these, over 60 per cent w e r e self-referrals w h i l e 30 p er cent w e r e first year students w h o n e e d ed f o l l o w - up service after participating i n the annual mental health screening exercise. T he rest we re referred b y other academic, administrative or medical staff of the University. Apart f r om individual counselling, there w e r e also s ma ll g r o u p activities w h i c h a i m e d at d e v e l o p i ng s e l f - h e lp skills a n d e n h a n c i ng me n t al health. I n a d d i t i o n, w o r k s h o ps f o c u s i ng o n the u n d e r s t a n d i ng of p s y c h o l o g i c al p r o b l ems a n d o n p a r a c o u n s e l l i ng skills w e r e o r g a n i z ed for staff f r om different units i n v o l v ed in student services. This h e l p ed to ensure appropriate a nd timely referral of students i n n e ed of psychological service. 就業輔導 Placement and Guidance 根據一九九四年畢業生的就業調查顯示，絕大部分本校畢業生均可在離校半年內找到 工作。工商界與教育界仍然是他們的主要出路，其餘的畢業生則任職於政府或公共及社會 服務機構。截至九五年六月三十日之年度，有接近一千間不同類型機構在本校就業輔導組 刊登招聘廣告，提供五千一百三十個職位空缺供畢業生應徵。此外，亦有七百零五間機構 透過該組向學生提供八千四百一十六個兼職及暑期工作空缺。 就業輔導方面，學生事務處除鼓勵學生主動透過錄像帶、書本、期刊及電腦軟件等學 習外，亦爲各年級學生舉辦就業資料講座和展覽、模擬求職面試實習班、時事討論小組和 一九九四年學士學位畢業生就業情況 Ma j or Career Fields of 1994 First Degree Holders * 包括計算機工程、計算機程序設計和訊息科技 Including computer engineering, computer programming and information technology
