Lau finds that theethosofHong Kong peopleembraces diverse values and attitudes: sideby sidean affirmation of democracyand egalitarian valuesliesa strong conviction thatwayward opinion and activitiesshould be rought under control. 美國專利權，另有七項仍在審議階段。該兩項專利權為「調控砷化鎵材料光波導」和「利用細 菌品種分解靛藍及水溶性靛藍」 。 A p p l i ed research leading to patentable results is increasing r ap i d l y , especially since a Policy o n Research, Consultancies and Intellectual Property wa s adop t ed to articulate the consensus w i t h i n the Un i v e r s i t y scholarly c ommu n i ty o n the h a n d l i ng o f intellectual property. As of June 1996, a total of 13 applications have been considered; t w o have been granted US patents and seven mo re are pending.
