A total of 4,126 students comp l e t ed their studies i n 1995—96, among w h om 3,123 were first degree students, 471 postgraduate d i p l oma students, and 532 higher degree students. This brought the total number o f graduates since 1966 to 47,176. This year also saw a 26 per cent increase in th e number of first-degree graduates. Ninety-fiv e of them completed their studies by the end of the firs t t e rm and became the second batch of undergraduate students to graduate in the middle of an academic year.
