in career education including books and pamphlets, videos, cassettes, articles in periodicals , and interactive computer software were made available for use by students. Career talks, exhibitions, simulated interviews, curren t affairs discussion groups and workshops were organized for bot h final and non-final year student s to strengthen their language proficiency, communication, socia l and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities. A total of 139 sessions of such guidance activities were organized in 1995-9 6 and were attended by 10,933 students. 調査及出版 Surveys and Publications 除每年的畢業生就業調查及新生家庭狀況調查外，學生事務處於一九九五至九六年度還 開展了四項調查： •本校新生的社會及家庭觀念問卷調查； •范克廉樓膳堂管理、服務水準和食物質素調查，以期改進膳堂服務； • 一年級新生健康評估，以確保有潛在問題之學生能及早獲得輔導； •僱主對大學畢業生語文能力評估問卷調查。 學生事務處是年出版多類刊物及調查報告，包括《學生事務》三期、《就業輔導簡訊》八 期、《學生獎助學金及經濟援助手冊》及《一九九五年度畢業生就業概況》。 Ap a r t f r om the annual surveys on the emp l oyment of graduates and the socioeconomic background of new students, several other major surveys were conducted by the University's Office of Student Affairs du r i ng the year: • a survey on the social an d family values o f new students 1995; • w i t h a v i ew to imp r ov i ng catering services, a study on the management, service and food quality of canteens at the Benjamin Franklin Centre; • a health-screening exercise for first-year students for the purpose of identifyin g the high risk groups fo r early counselling services; and • a survey on employers' expectations of the language ability of university graduates. Publications during the year included various survey reports, thre e issues of Student Affairs, eight issues of Career Newsletter, a Handbook on Scholarships & Financial Aid to Students, and A Summary Report on the Employment Survey of 1995 G r a d u a t e s .
