學術發展 Academi c Developmen t 一九九六至九七年度是一九九五至九八年三年撥款期的第二年，政府在這三年內的目標，是使百 分之十適齡學生得以在本地大學修讀第一年學士學位課程；本校學生人數也隨而在過去數年續 有增長，年內則保持穩定，至一九九六年底，共有本科生一萬零二百六十人，硏究生二千五百八 十六人。 食品及營養科學、翻譯、體育運動科學，以及機械與自動化工程學等全日制本科課程於年內皆誕 生了首批畢業生。 1996-97 was the second year of the 1995-98 funding triennium, in which the government's target of providing first-year first-degree places for 18 per cent of the relevant age group in Hong Kon g had to be met. After experiencing substantial growth in the number of students in the past few years, the University maintained a stable enrolment in the year under review, with 10,260 undergraduate students and 2,586 postgraduate students by the end of December 1996. 1996-97 also saw the graduation of the first batch of graduates from the full-time undergraduate programmes in food an d nutritional sciences, translation, physical education and sports science, and mechanical and automation engineering. 新設課程 New Programmes of Study 本校全日制本科課程於一九九六至九七年度踏入鞏固及調整期。為配合政府持續增加修課式及研 究式課程的研究生學額，並為滿足社會的新需求，本校於年內增設下列八項研究院課程，其中四 項屬自負盈虧者： 護理學學士後文憑課程 藥劑學哲學碩士課程 傳播學社會科學碩士課程 財務學理學碩士課程 訊息工程學理學碩士課程 臨床藥劑學碩士課程 建築學哲學博士課程 護理學哲學博士課程 另外，五項硏究院新課程已獲敎務會通過自一九九七至九八年度起開設，計為工業及組織心理學 哲學碩士課程、電子工程理學碩士課程、系統工程與工程管理學理學碩士課程、哲學博士（哲學） 課程及敎育博士課程。 18 學術發展
