丘成桐教授 Prof. Yau Shing-tung 理學院重要發展 一、食品及營養科學學士課程首批畢業生誕生。 二、學院積極籌備於一九九八至九九年增辦兩項學士學位課程：材料科學及分子生物科技學。 三、學院不遺餘力推行敎學質素許估調查，以確保敎學質素。評估分兩次進行：學期中之評估由敎師自發 進行，學期末之評估則由各學系統籌處理。 四、數學講座敎授丘成桐敎授榮獲一九九七年美國國家科學獎。 Majo rEvents i n th e Faculty o f Scienc e 1. The B.Sc. programme i n food an d nutritional sciences produced it s first batch o f graduates. 2. The faculty made preparations for the launch o f two new undergraduate programmes i n 1998-99: materials science an d molecular biotechnology. 3. The faculty continued t o monitor teaching quality vi a a mid-term survey undertaken b y individual staff members o n a voluntary basis, an d a term-end departmental course evaluation. 4. Prof. Ya u Shing-tung, professor o f mathematics, w a s a w a r d ed th e U S National Medal o f Science 1997.
