较學發展組組員與新敎師於迎新講座後合照 Participants ofan orientation programme organizedby theTeachingDevelopment Unit •進修津貼:各學系及行政部門均獲分配員工訓練及發展預算,以 提高僱員的工作技能和知識。本年度共有一百二十個按「乙類」及 「丙類」服務條例受聘職員的申請獲得批准,資助總額二十五 萬港元。不少按「甲類」服務條例受聘的敎職員,也獲津貼參加 實務硏討會、工作坊及短期課程。 •校內培訓計劃:人事處為廿六名新聘行政人員舉辦行政人員導向課 程,為三十七名新聘文職人員舉辧入職輔導課程,及為二十五名 行政人員舉辧中文寫作課程:電算機服務中心為六百六十名敎職 員提供電腦應用訓練;而敎學發展組則開辦迎新講座,協助五十五 名新敎師了解本校的敎硏資源和敎學文化。 The University has always encouraged staff members to enhance their knowledge and skills to cope with changing job requirements and to improve career prospects. In 1996-97, staff members continued to benefit from different training and developmen t programmes: • Staff development programmes and grants: Seven teaching an d administrative staff members received support from the University or external sources in the form of scholarships, fellowships, special grants or training leave to further their studies, training , and research at local and overseas institutions of higher learning. • Special grants for conducting research abroad during summer: Grants amounting to HK$770,000 were approved b y the University for 27 applications from teachers to carry out quality research outside Hong Kong in the summer of 1997. • Conference grants: Financial assistance was given to 297 successful applicants to attend academic and professiona l conferences in Hong Kong and overseas. • Reimbursement of training and development expenses: Departments and administrative units were allocated staff trainin g budgets. A total of 120 applications from staff on Terms o f Service (B) and (C) involving fees to the tune of HK$250,000 were approved by the Universit y to help 58 敎職員
