CUHK student s als o participate d i n man y internationa l programmes an d tournament s hel d overseas : Worl d Universities Debatin g Championship s (Athens , Greece) , lntervarsity Debatin g Contes t wit h Nanyan g Technologica l University (Singapore) , Busines s Tomorro w Internationa l Conference (Ne w York , USA) , th e Asi a Pacifi c Leadershi p Development Semina r 199 8 (Sydney , Australia) , an d th e Mclntire Internationa l Cas e Competitio n (Charlottesville , Virginia, USA) . 獎學金及經濟援助 本年度的獎學金及經濟援助計劃金額續有增長，總額達二千九百五十 七萬元，其中一千八百七十九萬元由學生事務處管理，其餘的一千 零七十八萬元則由四所成員書院分別管理。 大學及書院為表揚有傑出學術表現的學生，鼓勵他們繼續爭取優異 成績，共頒發獎學金及學業優異獎一千二百五十三項，總額達一千七 百三十一萬元。由校方管理之獎學金及優異獎共六百一十一項，其中 百分之七的金額超過四萬二千一百元，足以支付全年學費。 另有八十八名學生獲頒獎學金參加海外交換生計劃、海外會議或交 流計劃，以及修讀硏究院課程，金額約三百萬元。 雖然大部分需要經濟援助的學生都可獲政府的本地專上學生資助計 劃資助，但仍有小部分由於種種原因須向大學求助。本年度校方為學 生提供約七百五十萬元的援助，其中六百二十八萬元為貸款，其餘 為助學金。 此外，有六百四十一名學生參與大學及書院的學生工讀計劃，共領取 津貼一百五十萬元。 Scholarships and Financial Aid The yea r unde r revie w sa w continuou s growt h i n th e provision o f scholarship s an d financia l assistanc e t o students; th e tota l amoun t give n ou t wa s HK$29.5 7 million , of whic h HK$18.7 9 millio n wa s administere d b y th e Offic e o f Student Affair s an d HK$10.7 8 millio n b y th e fou r colleges .
