學生事務處繼續舉辦兩項每年一度的大型活動：「中國就業發 展獎勵計劃」讓中大學生在內地受訓；而「新紀元行政管理精英 培訓計劃」則讓中大學生與內地十九所著名大學的精英一起在 中大接受跨文化的管理訓練。 本校學生擊退亞洲區多所學府的學生，奪得第八屆「哈佛亞洲 及國際關係會議」的合辦權，得與哈佛學生於一九九九年六 月五至八日在香港舉行題為「亞洲在金融風暴後如何自處並 轉危為機」的會議，與會者包括二百五十多名來自三十五個不 同國家和地區的代表。中大國際交換計劃處為大會的贊助單位， 並為學生提供後勤支援。 Students were also encouraged to participate in inter-university competitions locally and overseas, including the Prestigious Collegiate Debating Contest (in Shanghai), the Inter-Varsity Games (in Hong Kong), and the Harold Crookel l International Case Competition (in Canada), in which the CUHK team beat nine other universities and won the championship.
