Li (left 4) with CUHK awardees at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship Scheme Presentation Ceremony. 獎學金及經濟援助 本年度的獎學金及經濟援助計劃金額續有增長,總額達三千一 百二十八萬港元,其中一千九百七十三萬港元由學生事務處管 理,其餘的一千一百五十五萬港元則分由四所成員書院管理。 大學及書院為表揚有傑出學術表現的學生,鼓勵他們繼續爭取 優異成績,共頒發獎學金及學業優異獎一千三百七十四項, 總額達一千七百一十一萬港元。由學生事務處管理的獎學金及 優異獎共五百六十九項,其中百分之七的金額超過四萬二千 一百港元,足以支付全年學費。 另有七十名學生獲頒獎學金參加海外交換計劃、海外會議或交 流計劃,以及修讀研究院課程,總金額約五百一十三萬港元。 which students from CUHK and top universities o n the mainland participate in intensive cross-cultural leadership training on the University campus. A group of CUHK students bid successfully against several very competitive university student groups in other parts of Asia to host the 8th annual conference of the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) in Hong Kong from 5th to 8th June 1999. The them e of the conference was 'Asia at the Crossroads: Rising to the Challenges of Reforms'. The Office of International Studies Programmes acted as the university sponsor and provided logistical support to the student organizers. The conference was attended by over 250 delegates from 35 countries an d regions. Scholarships and Financial Assistance During the period under review, the amount of scholarships and financial assistance for students grew. The total amount given out was HK$31.28 million, of which HK$ 19.73 million was administered by the Office of Student Affairs and HK$11.55 million by the four colleges. 學生及校友 Students an d A l u m ni 62
