雖然大部分需要經濟援助的學生都可獲政府的本地專上學生資 助計劃資助,但仍有小部分由於種種原因須向大學求助。本 年度校方為學生提供六百一十四萬港元貸款,另助學金一百廿 二萬港元。 此外,一千一百六十八名學生曾參與大學及書院的學生工讀計 劃,共領取津貼一百四十八萬港元。 心理輔導 一九九八至九九年度,心理輔導組積極採用外展和綜合模式提 供服務,透過各種活動接觸更多的學生,達致預防、治療和 敎育等輔導效果。 學生使用心理輔導組的「身心鬆弛練習室」 A student in the Relaxation Laboratory of the Psychological Counselling Unit A total of 1,374 University - and college-administered scholarships and prizes with an aggregate value of HK$1 7.11 million were awarded t o students with outstanding academic achievements as incentive for them to continue to excel in their studies. Of the 569 University awards, about seven per cent carried a value sufficient to cover the annual tuition fee , i.e. HK$42,100 or more. About HK$5.13 million was granted to 70 students for participating in University-arranged exchang e programmes, postgraduate studies, conferences, and study tours abroad. A total of HK$6.14 million was given out in the form of loans, and HK$1.22 million in the form of bursaries to students who, for one reaso n or another, could not benefit from the Government's Local Student Financial Assistance Scheme. During the year, 1,168 students benefited from the University and College Student Campus Work Schemes, for which some HK$1.48 million was disbursed. Psychological Counselling Service In 1998-99, the Psychological Counselling Unit adopted an outreaching and integrative approach i n delivering its services in order to reach a larger number of students and to incorporate preventive and developmental counselling in its programmes and activities. Some 300 students benefited from its personal counselling services during the year and over 3,500 students participated in its various group programmes focussing on self- understanding, stress-management, and personal adjustment. To facilitate collaboration with teaching staff and in providing ccunselling support to students, referral guidelines were issued and a Departmental Liaison Network was established.
