網絡圖書館電子圖書 是項服務於二零零一年二月展開,將網絡圖書館 所藏的九百種有版權的和四千種不受版權限制的 電子書,通過中大網絡二十四小時供讀者查閲。 所有電子書的圖文均與印刷本相同,可作全文 搜索,又附線上有聲字典。 拼音轉換 圖書館系統於二零零一年六月,將約三十萬條書 目和九萬多條成案紀錄,由威翟氏 (Wade-Giles) 羅馬拼音轉換成廣為國際機構採納的漢語拼音, 方便讀者翻查目錄。 圖書館智能卡計劃 策劃經年的圖書館智能卡計劃終於推出。「中大 通」和「圖書館智能卡」可作為入館的憑證,卡 主並可利用卡內的電子錢繳付打印和影印的費 用。 服務標準與未來計劃 圖書館系統面對前沿科技與新的知識產權法例, 除了要不斷求變之外,更要致力維持良好的服 務。圖書館一方面在其網頁刊登服務準則,另方 面鼓勵專業館員參加講座和硏討會,與海內外 同業多作交流。館方並擬舉辦大型國際圖書館專 業會議。 • Piny in Conversion. The library completed the conversion from Wade-Giles Chinese romanization to Pinyin in June 2001. Nearly 300,000 bibliographic records and 90,000 authority records wer e successfully converted. Users can search the library catalogue with greater ease as Pinyin is widely adopted by international organizations. • Library Smart Card Project Tremendous effort was made in planning and implementin g the use of the CU Link Card and the Library Smart Card. These smar t cards are equipped wit h e-purse function and can be used to gain access to the libraries as well as to fee-charging photocopying and printing services. Service Standards a nd F u t u r e I n i t i a t i v es In the midst of change brought abou t by leading-edge technology and new laws on intellectual property, the University Library System was alway s mindful of ensuring quality service to the users. Service standards were prepared and posted on the library homepage. Professional librarians were encouraged to attend seminars and conferences, and to make more contact wit h libraries in mainland China and abroad.
