Donations in kind and donations under HK$500,000 received in the period were too numerous to record in this report. 財務與賬目 過去三年,雖然敎資會削減了對大學的資助達百 分之十,但校方憑著健全的財務管理和通縮的環 境,有效地控制成本,避免了超支。年結之時, 大學處理了敎資會撥款平衡賬的結餘之後,尚可 將一筆六千九百萬元的款項,轉撥儲備金。 本年度敎資會的經常撥款,削減至二十三億八 千萬元。在投資市場不振及利率下調的情況下, 本校仍錄得一億二千九百萬元的投資及利息收 入,增幅達百分之十三,這無疑是主動投資, 審慎理財的成果。 Finance and Accounts With the help of sound financial management practices and a deflationary environment in Hong Kong, the University was able to contain its expenditur e well within budget notwithstanding the 10 per cent point-to-point funding cut imposed by the University Grants Committee (UGC) for the 1998-2001 triennium. At the conclusion of the year 2000-1, the University balanced its account wit h the UGC and transferred about $69 million to its reserves. The recurrent grant from the UGC for the year was reduced to only $2.38 billion. Despite th e downturn of the investment market as well as several rounds of interest rate cuts during the year, investment an d interest income still recorded a remarkable increase of 13 per cent to $129 million, which was a result of proactive investment strategy DONATIONS.
