交換生到大嶼山天壇大佛遊覽 International students on an excursion to Lantau Island to see the world's largest seated outdoor bronze Buddha 領袖培育課程 中大於去年開設一項計算學分的「領袖培育課 程」，希望透過有系統的訓練，培育潛質優秀學 生的領導才能，協助他們應付新紀元的挑戰。 課程為期兩年，要求嚴格，以激發學員思維為 主，設有領袖技巧訓練、公民敎育、倫理及美 育，以及非形式活動四個單元，由本校有關學系 的敎師和校外的專業導師任敎。訓練模式包括工 作坊、硏討會、講座，以及本地和外地考察。校 方期望學員日後能於不同崗位和處境下，全面發 揮領導才能。 學術交流 儘管二零零一年的「九一一」事件和二零零三年的 非典型肺炎為國際交流活動帶來重重挑戰，中大 今年在推行國際敎育方面仍取得重大進展：二百 三十名中大生到海外學府當交換生，人數比去年 增加了三成二；年中新簽訂的三十項交換生協議 除為學生提供更多的留學機會外，更將交換生計 劃擴展到比利時、愛爾蘭、荷蘭及新加坡。 今年前來中大就讀的留學生人數受「九一一」事件 影響，比去年下跌百分之六，而非典型肺炎的爆 Leadership Development Programme The University continued to offer a credit-bearing Leadership Development Programme to cultivate the leadership potential of selected students, and to prepare them for challenges of the new century. This two-year programme is rigorous and intellectually stimulating, covering the topics of Leadership Skills Training, Civic Education, Ethical and Aesthetic Education, and Non-formal Activities. Training takes different forms including workshops, seminars, talks, and local or non- local attachment. Lecturers are either teachers from academic departments of the University or professional trainers from outside the University. Students are expected to demonstrate leadership in different professional capacities and situations upon completion of the programme. Academic Exchange Despite the challenges posed by the 9-11 aftermath, the Iraqi crisis, and the outbreak of SARS, 2002-3 was a very successful year for international education at CUHK. A total of 230 CUHK students were sent overseas on exchange programmes during the year, representing an increase of 32 per cent over 2001-2. Thirty new student exchange arrangements were started during the year to create more exchange opportunities in places that are completely new study destinations for CUHK students, such as Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Singapore.
