concurrent student exchange fair with booths hosted by teaching departments and organizations such as the British Council and the US Institute for International Education to promote exchange opportunities. The Hong Kong Trade Development Council generously supported a new initiative overseas, whereby CUHK collaborated with five other universities in Hong Kong to host a 'Study in Hong Kong' booth at the annual NAFSA International Education Expo held in Salt Lake City in the USA. The conference attracted study abroad professionals from all over the world, and helped publicize higher education opportunities in Hong Kong to young people overseas. The University received a number of prominent international delegations during the year. Among them were the presidents of Brown University (USA), Humboldt University Berlin (Germany), Sheffield University (UK), and the University of Calgary (Canada). Their visits laid a solid foundation for further talks on collaborative projects as well as faculty and student mobility programmes. Links with the Mainland and Taiwan The University made good progress in educational cooperation with mainland institutions through academic conferences and research collaboration.
