T h is b r e a k t h r o u g h d e v e l o p m e n t w i l l h a v e a g l o b a l i m p a c t i n c o n t a i n i ng f u t u re outbreaks. - U n i t s w i t h i n t he f a c u l ty r e n d e r ed s u p p o rt of d i f f e r e nt k i n d s to the c o m m u n i ty i n f i g h t i ng against the disease: the School of Public H e a l t h, the N e t h e r s o le School of N u r s i n g a n d f r o n t l i ne m e d i c al p r a c t i t i o n e rs j o i n e d h a n d s i n t h e ' S c h o o ls A g a i n s t S A R S' c amp a i g n; the Centre for H e a l th E d u c a t i on a n d H e a l th P r o m o t i on d r e w u p H y g i e n e C h a r t e rs f o r d i f f e r e nt social, b u s i n e ss a n d i n d u s t ry sectors i n H o n g K o n g to p r o m o te concepts a n d practices of h y g i e n e; a n d t h e U n i v e r s i t y 's H o n g K o n g M o o d D i s o r d e rs C e n t re l a u n c h ed a t h r e e - m o n th c a m p a i gn w i t h the H o n g K o n g M e d i c a l A s s o c i a t i on a n d C o m m e r c i al R a d io to h e i g h t en p u b l ic awareness of m o o d d i s o r d e rs i n the w a k e of SARS. 平均每天錄得一萬個點擊。至五月上旬， 瀏覽人次逾三十萬。 - 與 香 港 醫 學 會 於二零 零三年 四月 二十 五日 晚上合辦「嚴重急性呼吸系統綜合症新進 展——世界視野」學術研討會，與會的醫護 專家超過六百名。 - 成 為 最 先 破 解 冠 狀 病 毒 基 因 圖 譜 的 研 究中 心之一，其後更率先提供嚴謹證據，解釋 病毒基因變異的過程。 - 進 行 血 清 治 療 ， 取 得 良 好 效 果 ， 並 協 助威 爾斯親王醫院收集血清，分發予香港其他 醫院使用。 - 由 盧 煜 明 敎 授 帶 領 的 研 究 隊 伍 開 發了真正 有效、既快且準的測試方法，可於病發首 天即斷定病人是否患上 S A RS ， 有助遏止 SARS 於全球蔓延。 - 學 院 轄 下 單 位 協 助 社 區 推 動 抗 炎工作 ：公 共衛生學院、那打素護理學院及前線醫護 人員參與「健康校園齊抗炎」行動；健康敎 育及促進健康中心協助制定《衛生約章》， 針對不同社群和業界的需要，以推動社區 的清潔衛生；香港健康情緒中心聯同香港 醫學會及商業電台合辦為期三個月的「心 晴行動」，協助市民在疫情陰影下正確認 識情緒病。 學術發展 Academic Development 39
