Continuing efforts were also made to develop on-line, self-learning resources on the web for staff members. • Exemplary Service Award 2002: the Staff Training and Development Committee continued with the Exemplary Service Award Scheme in 2002. The objective of the award is to give recognition to staff members who have made outstanding contributions to customer service, thereby fostering the service culture in the University. In 2002, seven staff members from different departments/units were selected for the award based on such criteria as manners and attitude, job knowledge and skills, and customer satisfaction. In addition to the workshops on customer service for both managerial staff and frontline staff, training in advanced customer service skills was provided for the frontline staff. • The Information Technology Services Centre organized a myriad of computer education programmes for 1,991 staff members on the use of campus computing facilities and the latest IT skills. These programmes were delivered through instructor-based lectures, technical briefing sessions, on-line teaching and self-learning courses. The Centre for Learning Enhancement and Research conducted various teaching-related programmes and 465 teaching staff members participated in such programmes in 2002-3. 7 0 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2002-2003
