典型肺炎而取消。 二零零二年的畢業生之中，逾七成二於該年底已 受僱於各行各業，其中約六成二人投身工商界， 約一成六人加入敎育界行列；另約有二成四人選 擇繼續升學。 校 友 中大自成立以來，共培育了超過七萬名畢業生， 他們遍布各行各業，其中多位更於今年獲香港特 區政府授勳，以表揚他們的傑出成就和對社會的 貢獻(名單見第八十七頁）。此外，趙詠賢校友在 二零零二年韓國釜山亞運會勇奪女子壁球單打金 牌，為本港體壇添上光輝的一頁。今年獲大學頒 授榮譽院士的傑出校友包括前廣播處長、香港特 區政府駐東京經濟貿易首席代表張敏儀女士，以 及香港金融管理局副總裁陳德霖先生。 不少校友繼續以他們的專業知識和實務經驗協助 母校發展，除參與校內各類諮詢委員會外，也有 出任大學和書院校董，或應邀主持專業講座。更 多校友參加了書院及學系的學長計劃，跟學弟學 妹分享他們的人生經驗和工作心得。此外，校友 又捐款支持大學、書院及學系的發展，他們對 「中大發展基金」的慷慨捐輸，為大學多項發展項 目提供了穩定的資金來源。 Unfortunately, the 2003 programme was cancelled due to the outbreak of SARS. With regard to graduate employment, about 72 per cent of the class of 2002 were able to secure full-time employment by the end of December 2002, with 62.8 per cent joining the commercial and industrial sector, 16.6 per cent joining the education field. The remaining 24.7 per cent decided to further their studies. Alumni The graduation of the class of 2003 brought the total number of the University's alumni to over 70,000 (headcount). Their achievements and services to Hong Kong have been widely recognized. Many were included in the Hong Kong SAR Government's 2003 Honours List (see table on page 87). Ms. Chiu Wing Yin, a CUHK alumna, added a brilliant record to the history of Hong Kong sports by winning a gold medal in women's squash singles of the 2002 Asian Games. Two distinguished alumni were made Honorary Fellows of the University in 2003. They are Ms. Cheung Man Yee, former Director of Broadcasting and Principal Hong Kong Economic and Trade Representative in Tokyo; and Mr. Norman Chan Tak Lam, Deputy Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. As before, many alumni continued to contribute their professional expertise to the development of their alma mater through participation in the University Council, College Boards of Trustees, and various advisory committees, or by giving talks and seminars to staff and students.
