The mo st representative project i n the research a nd d e v e l o pme nt of Chinese h e r b al h e a l th supplements of the School of Chinese Me d i c i ne is the N u t r i G r e en ' An t i - a g e i n g' Formula. It is a 100 per cent n a t u r al h e r b al s u p p l eme nt exclusively researched a nd d e v e l o p ed b y the school, ma n u f a c t u r ed b y the H o n g K o n g I n s t i t u te of B i o t e c h n o l o gy a n d c u r r e n t ly ma r k e t ed b y a n i n d u s t r i al b r a nd n amed Nu t r i G r e e n. The H o n g K o n g I n s t i t u te of B i o t e c h n o l o gy ( H K I B ) r e o r g a n i z ed its i n t e r n al u n i ts a n d ma de substantial ma r k e t i ng efforts to p r omo te its services a nd products i n 2004-05. Four major units, n ame ly the B i o t e c h n o l o gy Incubator Centre, the Biologics Un i t, the GBP Co n s u l t a t i on Service U n i t a nd the T r a d i t i o n al Chinese Me d i c i ne ( T C M ) U n i t, p r o v i de services catering to different i n d u s t ry needs. H K I B a nd the H o n g K o n g P r o d u c t i v i ty Co u n c il organized a G MP w o r k s h op i n A u g u st 2004 for Ch i n e se m e d i c i ne c omp a n i es to address l o c al c o n c e r ns o v er G M P g u i d e l i n e s. T he G M P Consultation Service U n i t of the H K I B has become the most experienced team i n H o n g K o n g for G M P consultation. T h ey we re c o n s u l t ed i n G M P f a c i l i ty r e n o v a t i on projects b y a n umb er of r e n o w n ed p h a r ma c e u t i c al c omp a n i es i n H o n g K o n g as w e l l as the H o s p i t al A u t h o r i t y. The Process D e v e l o pme nt Facility of the T C M U n i t f u r t h er e x p a n d ed its services a n d p r o d u c ts i n 2004-05, a nd additional industrial collaborations were established targetting research a nd product developments. The Au s t r a l i an Therapeutic Goods A dm i n i s t r a t i on a nd the De p a r t me nt of He a l th inspected the T C M facility at H K I B respectively i n October 2004 a nd M a y 2005. O n another front, the Asia-Pacific Institute of Business ( AP I B) has extended teaching a nd research of the Faculty of Business A dm i n i s t r a t i on to the business c ommu n i t y. I n 2004-05, AP IB organized a series of executive programmes, seminars a nd wo r k s h o ps o n finance, business communication, ma n a g eme nt a nd ma r k e t i ng for local a nd ma i n l a nd corporations. Some p r o g r ammes are tailor- ma de to p r o v i de business solutions u n i q ue to the corporations.
