學術發展 Academic Development 27 • Our EMBA Programme was ranked No. 15 worldwide and No.1 Independent EMBA in the Asia-Pacific again in the Financial Times EMBA ranking released in October 2005. Among all the independent programmes in the Asia-Pacific, our EMBA Programme was ranked top from 2003 to 2005 for three consecutive years. It was also ranked top from 2001 to 2005 for five consecutive years among all independent programmes in Asia. In terms of the percentage of international faculty and women students, the programme was ranked Top 10 around the globe, scoring high in such areas as salary increase, women students, women faculty, women advisory board and international advisory board. CUHK is also one of the three business schools in the top 15 where the medium of teaching is bilingual. • Full-time MBA students Peter Liu, Phoebus Ng and Caly Xiao participated in the L’ORÉAL e-STRAT 6 CHALLENGE and won the championship in both the Hong Kong division and the North Asia Division in the MBA Category. They competed with the winners of the other seven zones in the world and won the third place in the International Finals on 12 April 2006 at the Eiffel Tower in Paris. L’ORÉAL e-STRAT 6 CHALLENGE is the largest Internet strategic competition in the world. This year over 40,000 students from 125 countries took part. • A team comprising three Integrated BBA undergraduates, namely Lillian Chan, Joyce Ho and Vivian Wong, and one Professional Accountancy undergraduate Hallas Cheung, won the Business Administration Paper Competition organized by The Hong Kong Federation of Business Students (HKFBS) on 18 February 2006. Vivian Wong also won the Best Presenter Award. CUHK business undergraduates have bagged the championship of this competition for two consecutive years. • Accounting students, Fung Shuk Fun, Hsu Li Fei, Mok Sze Wai and Chan Ching Hei, beat 117 teams from eight local universities to become the champions of the 4th CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Qualification Programme Case Analysis Competition on 26 November 2005. • The Distinguished Speakers’ Series, organized by the MBA Programmes, featured three local business leaders of the banking and finance industry. The first talk by Dr. Hon David Li Kwok-po, Chairman and Chief Executive of the Bank of East Asia Ltd., was held on 15 March 2006. He spoke on ’A Banker’s Perspective on Closer Integration with the Mainland’.
