Activities for Incoming Students The Incoming Students Section was established under the Office of Student Affairs in mid-2005. In the first year of its operation, the section organized a number of activities for different groups of students. Programmes catering to International House residents included orientation, international cuisine party, Halloween party, breakfast gatherings and open house. They provided opportunities for cultural exchange among student residents from different countries. Another focus of the section was to provide administrative support to Mainland students. A series of ‘get-togethers’ were conducted in the second term to gauge the views of Mainland freshmen on campus life. The section also supported the Mainland Undergraduate Association (MUA) in organizing the Mainland Students Orientation in September 2005. A potluck party co-organized by the MUA and International House was held in November 2005.
