28 • 學生能力國際評估計劃—香港中心於二零零七年十二月公布了「國 際評估計劃二零零六」研究報告,並舉辦研討會,闡釋報告內容及 對本地課程與教學的含義,逾二百五十名教師出席。 該研究由經濟合作與發展組織策劃,透過了解本地十五歲並將完 成免費教育的學童的基礎能力,以及影響他們學習的因素,從而評 估及比較各地的教育制度成效。中心已獲教育局再撥款一千二百萬 港元,繼續負責為期三年的研究「國際評估計劃二零零九」。 The Programme for International Student Assessment Hong Kong (HKPISA) Centre released the International Report of PISA 2006 in December 2007, followed by a seminar organized for school teachers to disseminate the findings and share the implications for curriculum and instruction. The seminar attracted over 250 participants. The PISA programme, organized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, compares and evaluates the effectiveness of education systems by assessing how well 15-year-olds in Hong Kong near the end of compulsory education have acquired the knowledge and skills essential for participating in society. The project has been in operation since 2004 and aims to benefit 120 schools. • 優化英語教學研究中心於二零零八年二月成立,目標是提升英語教育的科研潛力及為英語教師提 供專業支援。中心的成立,體現了教育學院致力設立專業單位以支援業界發展的遠景。 The Centre for Enhancing English Learning and Teaching (CEELT) was established in February 2008 to undertake research in English language education as well as to offer professional support for English language teachers.
