7 引 言 Introduction theatres and a new home for the Faculty of Law and other offices. Other building projects in progress include the extension to the University Library, the Student Amenity Centre situated between Chung Chi Tang and Elisabeth Luce Moore Library, the Centralized General Research Lab Complex in Area 39, and three blocks of integrated teaching buildings on Station Road. As regards the development of the five new Colleges established between 2006 and 2007, I am pleased to report that Prof. Sir James A. Mirrlees and Prof. Samuel S.M. Sun were formally appointed Master of Morningside College and Master of S.H. Ho College respectively, and that the two college offices have commenced operation to prepare for the first intake of students. The three other new Colleges, C.W. Chu College, Wu Yee Sun College, Lee Woo Sing College, have also progressed steadily on their planning work including infrastructural building and staff recruitment. I am confident that all five Colleges will be ready by 2012 to cater for the educational needs of an additional 3,000 undergraduate students, providing them with a holistic education which is a cherished hallmark of the Chinese University. 二零一二年後，學生對學習和活動設施的 需求將大幅增加，年內各項校園基建工程 均進度良好。校園西部綜合教學大樓已於 二零零八年第四季落成，內有設備先進的 演講廳，並為法律學院之所在地。至於大 學圖書館擴建、眾志堂和牟路思怡圖書館 之間的學生活動中心、三十九區地段的綜 合科研實驗室大樓，以及車站路三幢新教 學大樓等建築工程亦如火如荼。
