6 思往憶舊 In order to inculcate the sense of global citizenship and civic responsibility more profoundly among the students, and to unite the efforts of both teachers and students in common pursuit of their shared objectives, the Chinese University launched the comprehensive I • CARE Programme which embraces learning and service opportunities aimed at broadening the participants’ intellectual horizons and capacity for culture and aesthetics, and enabling them to gain hands-on and in situ experience in aid and relief work, both locally and across the globe. Social enterprise is also very much one of the core activities being encouraged under the I • CARE umbrella, in which our staff and students actively seek opportunities to collaborate with leading service agencies in projects of direct benefit to both the servers and the served. In this report we have highlighted the case reports of some of the I • CARE projects in the hope that they may not only be more extensively known to citizens of Hong Kong and beyond, but, much more importantly, that they may attract feedback and comments from those who share our compassion for fostering a culture of care and social concern among young people, and their views on how our efforts may be improved and strengthened. The New Order The entire education system in Hong Kong underwent another sea-change in 2012, when the undergraduate degree programme in all universities adopted a four-year curriculum. For the Chinese University it was a reversion to its time-honoured tradition it had practised since its first days, and a vindication of its unswerving belief, now tried and proven, in the superior value of a four-year programme. 並令他們可到本港或世界各地,實地參與 援助和救災工作,汲取第一手經驗。社會 企業也是 I ‧ CARE 博群計劃鼓勵的核心活 動,本校師生藉這些活動與主要服務機構 合作,進行直接裨益服務者和受助者的計 劃。本年報會列舉一些 I ‧ CARE 博群計劃 支持的項目,希望它們廣為香港市民和 境外所知,更重要的是,藉此可令與我們有 志一同,也想培養年輕人關懷社會的人, 給予我們意見和評價,以令我們的工作能 精益求精。 新秩序 香港的整體教育制度在 2012 年經歷另一次 翻天覆地的變化,各大學開始實行四年制 本科課程。對於中文大學來說,這是回歸 自創校之初已經採用並歷經時間考驗的 傳統,試驗和事實證明中大一直堅持四年 制較優勝的信念正確。實行三年制超過十 年,現在要應付回歸四年制,以及 2012 年 秋天新舊制兩批新生同時入學的雙班年, 中文大學和其他友校一樣,有許多計劃、 發展和修改工作須做。全賴有關同事通力 合作,細心分析了學生人數和準確預估學 生需要,從而制訂出巨細無遺的計劃,並按 之一一實行,過渡至新秩序的過程十分順 暢,多個月來許多大學行政大員所擔心的 混亂和不足,完全沒有發生。
