32 開拓人類知識的版圖 工程學院杜如虛教授獲選為 2012 年國際製 造工程學會院士，以表揚他在製造工程方 面的卓越貢獻。 賽馬會公共衞生及基層醫療學院教授兼健 康教育及促進健康中心總監李大拔教授， 獲選為美國國家醫學研究院新任外籍院 士。美國國家醫學研究院院士被視為公共 衞生及醫學領域的最高榮譽。 社區醫學榮休講座教授李紹鴻教授獲醫療 政策研究學院首屆醫療領導獎，表揚他對 本地衞生服務和發展的貢獻。 工程學院任德盛教授及蒙美玲教授，獲工 程學國際權威組織電機及電子工程師學會 頒授 2013 年度院士榮銜，以表揚他們分別 在「通訊網絡的建構和資源管理」及「語音 系統及多模態系統」的重大貢獻。 手語及聾人研究中心主任鄧慧蘭教授獲頒 授香港人道年獎 2013 。該獎由香港紅十字 會與香港電台合辦，旨在表揚在社會上以 實際行動充分體現人道精神的人士。 醫學院矯形外科及創傷學講座教授、「站起 來」發起人陳啟明教授，因對 2008 年四川 汶川大地震的醫療救援工作貢獻傑出，獲 中華醫學會骨科學分會頒發 2012 仁心獎。 化學病理學系趙慧君教授憑藉無創產前診 斷研究及應用的成就，以及推動亞太地區 在健康創新方面合作的貢獻，奪得 2012 年 亞太區經濟合作組織的科學創新、研究及 教育獎。此外，她又獲選為 2012 年度「中國 青年女科學家獎」十位得主之一。 Prof. Du Ruxu of the Faculty of Engineering was elected a fellow of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in 2012 for his significant accomplishments in the field of manufacturing engineering. Prof. Albert Lee, director of the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion of the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, was elected to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the United States National Academies. Election to the IOM is considered one of the highest honours in the fields of health and medicine. Prof. Lee Shiu-hung, Emeritus Professor of Community Medicine, was bestowed the first Healthcare Leadership Award by the Institute for Health Policy and Systems Research in recognition of his outstanding contributions to advancing Hong Kong’s health services delivery and development. Prof. Yum Tak-shing Peter and Prof. Meng Mei-Ling Helen of the Faculty of Engineering was elected fellows of the prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2013 for their remarkable accomplishments in ‘architecture and resource management of communication networks’ and ‘spoken language and multimodal systems’. Prof. Tang Wai-lan Gladys, director of the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies, was presented the Hong Kong Humanity Award 2013. The award was co-organized by the Hong Kong Red Cross and Radio Television Hong Kong with the aim of recognizing the role models who live up and put into practice the spirit of humanity.
