Seminars on different social issues were also conducted in Far East University and the Department of Social Work, Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science. ‘See You’ Volunteer Teaching Service Three students from the Departments of Information Engineering and Chinese Language and Literature initiated a volunteer group ‘See You’. From January to April 2014, ‘See You’ collaborated with SAHK Ko Fook Iu Memorial School and Christ College to provide volunteer teaching and interest classes to local students with disabilities and those who come from low income families. Unlike traditional tutorial classes, the CUHK volunteers aimed to promote personal growth of the students. Apart from giving advice on academic problems, they arranged various fun games and handicraft workshops for the students to help them explore their potential and induce creativity. Visiting Residents of Sub-divided Flats On 18 March 2014, the C.W. Chu College Service Team, in collaboration with Caritas Hong Kong, organized a visit to residents living in sub-divided flats along Castle Peak Road in Cheung Sha Wan and took the opportunity to conduct interviews with over 20 parties of residents. Through this activity, the team was able to meet people living under such poor conditions and to understand their daily needs. The service team aimed to raise members’ awareness about the problems of living conditions in Hong Kong, and more importantly, to reach out and show care and compassion for people in those conditions. 「見行」義教活動 三位來自信息工程學及中文系的學生, 發起了義工團體「見行」,在2014年 1月至4月,與香港耀能協會高福耀紀 念學校及基督書院合作,為本地傷殘人 士、低收入家庭的子女或在學業上有困 難的學生提供義教及技能興趣班服務。 有別於一般義教活動,「見行」特別注 重受助學生的個人成長,因此在學業輔 導以外,特別安排了趣味遊戲和技能 興趣班,讓學生發揮創意和發掘自己的 能力。 探訪劏房居民 敬文服務隊與明愛居民互助中心合作, 在2014年3月18日探訪劏房居民。服務 隊十一位成員到長沙灣青山道一帶進行 居住環境的問卷調查,合共探訪了逾二 十戶劏房或板間房住戶。 此活動旨在讓學生深入惡劣的居住環 境,與住戶直接交流,了解他們的生活 需要,反思及關注香港社會的貧窮及房 屋問題,加強關心社會的意識,也為居 民送上關懷。 35
