On Accommodation: “ D u r i n g the First Phase of Development we do not anticipate any p r o b l em in accommodation. We have in m i n d the use of U n i t ed College classrooms i n H o n g K o n g and N ew Asia College classrooms in K o w l o on for the ma j o r i ty of the courses. As e x t r a -mu r al classes are usually held after 5:30 p.m., there w i l l not be any clash w i t h the Colleges' regular classes. I n addition to U n i t ed and N e w Asia Colleges, however, we t h i nk that a n umb er of e x t r a -mu r al classes should be held in t own, in places such as the U.S.I.S., B r i t i sh Co u n c il premises, the lecture rooms in the C i ty Hall, etc. I n general, we are convinced that for the first three years there w i l l be no difficulty i n accommodation as far as lecture rooms are concerned." The Senate also approved the following Terms of Reference for the De g r e e / D i p l oma B o a r d :— U n d er the direction of the Ch a i r man of the Senate (a) to r e c omme nd to the Senate examination syllabuses and regulations governing the Degree' D i p l oma Examinations ; (b) to conduct De g r e e / D i p l oma Examinations, including such matters as the determination of examination dates, the recommendation of examination schemes, the a p p o i n t me nt of invigilators, and the determination of pass standards; (c) to receive reports f r om the panels of examiners and on the basis of these reports to recommend the pass lists to the Senate. T h e report w i ll be presented by the Ch a i rman of each panel of examiners on behalf of the panel members. T h e report should have been approved by the panels concerned, and the m i n o r i ty opinion, if any, should be appended.
